Fun with "Black Velvet" and a newborn

OK, so I'm not talking about the hard stuff, it's actually the soft stuff.  Anyway, Noelle and I rolled out the black velvet and took a bunch of pictures.  After that, I hit the digital darkroom to touch up the photos and make some black and whites.

I'm sure you're thinking to yourself right now, that can't be too difficult.  Well, if you look closely at the photos below, you will find two that appear to be identical (Hint: 4th & 5th photo).  The differences are almost unnoticeable until you look very close, one is bland and washed out while the other is vibrant and has depth, hence the rational for my ten step process for making black and white photos instead of photoshops brand new and improved black and white photo converter.  I read a book about a year back by Scott Kelby called "The photoshop elements 4 book", it has a lot of very cool techniques, the one that I use most though is his B&W technique.

    Enjoy the new photos.

    Cheers!

    She's starting to smile

Ahhh, finally, she's starting to show a little emotion, well, more emotion than just crying when she wants something. Here a a couple fun pics.  Also, a picture of us with our first Christmas tree :)

    Cheers!

    Lots more photos

Not much to say today, Audrey is getting bigger, in fact, she has already topped 10 pounds.  With any luck, she'll weigh more than our turkey come Thanksgiving day.

Things are starting to get fun with the camera, Audrey, is starting to show some personality. Not only do I have some good pictures of her screaming and carrying on, but we snapped a few of her with a smile on.

    Enjoy the photos!
