September 16 Another Photography HangoverIf you haven't noticed, it's been a while since I've posted any new photos on my space. Well, my excuse is that Noelle and I shot a wedding on 08.08.08. We had two cameras and a lot of disk space. We shot 1507 photos, processed 361 of them and used a total of 12.8 GB of space. To put it lightly, I spent about a week, 3 hours per night editing photos, the last thing I've wanted to do is edit more photos :)
The good part of dealing with so many photos is that I really get to learn a lot, anything from new tricks, to things I shouldn't waste time on (such as removing power lines [45 minutes] from a photo that wasn't that great in the first place).
Well, tonight, Noelle pleaded with me to get some more photos out on the site, you can check them out in the photo album dated September 16, 2008.
Cheers!
June 10 Carnel Hagen Family PhotosHave you seen that e-mail thread recently has a bunch of cheesy Olin Mills family photos. I recall laughing my ass off at every single photo, they were priceless, the families all dressed up in their 70's duds with cheesy backgrounds and special effects that may have seemed revolutionary at the time... but only add to the mounds of cheese.
Well, my mother recently gave me a small package of slides and asked me to scan them so we can preserve our families history. After I was able to stop laughing, I wondered, why were our family photos not in that e-mail. Since I have no shame, I find it necessary to share these with the world. To see the pics, they're in an album with the title "Carnel Hagen Family Photos"
Enjoy! March 25 No more photos in the blogAlthough it is so nice and easy to put photos in my blog, I have decieded that I will begin using the photo album the way it was intended. So, without futher adu, check out the lastest pictures in my photos section.
Cheers! February 24 Happy Birthday GraceColorado Springs and an attempt to photograph the lunar eclipseI flew to Colorado Springs a couple weeks ago for work and found a couple hours to see some of the local sites. Special thanks to my host Tim Yost.
From near my hotel, you feel like you're right at the base of the rockies, probably because you are. I was told later that the center mountain is Pikes Peak.
This is the LexisNexis building, a bit nicer than ours.
The first thing I thought of when I thought Colorado Springs was the Olympic traing center.
Countdown to the next two Olympics. Oh, I can't wait for Whistler.
A little bar that Jennifer Jones told me about, we were short on time so we didn't get to go in. They sell beer by the yard, I really should have made time :)
This is the Brodmore (not sure if I'm supposed to spell it with an 'A' or not - there's a good story behind that) it is a 5 star hotel, don't see too many of those now, do we.
Kissing Camels at the Garden of the Gods.
My favorite view of the Garden of the Gods, I don't think I did it justice.
Yes, I had to take a picture of something that said, "Garden of the Gods." By the way, the garden of the gods was the highlight of my sight seeing, the rock formation were awesome.
OK, so, this looks pretty boring, eh? Well, you probably won't beleive that the reason that mountain top is flat is because they cut it off when they were mining, it wasn't always flat.
Yes, that rock is really balancing, in fact, it's called blanced rock.
Here's the lunar elipse we had the other day, I need to read up on hot photograph this for 2010. The moon actually had a red tint, I couldn't capture that for some reason, oh well, I'll get it next time. January 29 Just a few more picsJanuary 17 Welcome to 2008Seahawks GameEvery year, I try to make it to at least one Seahawks game, usually for my Dad's birthday. We got to see a great game, a blowout in fact. Here are a few photos I took with some light comentary.
Seahawks making their grand entrance
Ichiro raising the 12th man flag (Note: I was sitting in the hawks nest on the other side of the field)
Shawn Alexander fixin' to fall down (#75 is way to close)
I have no idea how this photo ended up on my camera ;)
Annie Saunders is a friend of the family, she received an award during halftime
Yes! I actually got the photo of Nate applying a sweet stiff arm while running back the 2nd half kickoff (#20 went straight to the ground)
#8 Matt Hasselbeck surveying the defense
Merry Christmas (just a bit late)OK, so I'm way way behind on posting photos. I guess it's been a busy holiday season. I can safely say, we had a great Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's eve (except for the lame fireworks on the space needle).
Oh, I would love to have been a fly on the wall at that meeting. You mean, it takes only 2000 lines of code to launch all of those fireworks and you couldn't get it right? BTW: If you didn't know, I write a lot of code and 2000 lines of code isn't as much as they made it sound on King 5.
Enjoy!!!
October 12 Audrey's BirthdayPicking Apples in Yakima and a lot of hairRecently, we had the opportunity to pick apples at our friends Apple Orchard in Yakima. It's always a blast to see everyone. This years apple picking consisted more of picking apples from a box than from trees, anyway, we brought home some nice fruit. Thanks to Tom and Mike for hosting.
Audrey's hair is really starting to get long, I love the picture of here in the purple vest.
Cheers!
September 18 Getting caught upWell, it's been a while since I've posted some new photos. Audrey is growing more and more every day and she continues to amaze us with her good humor. My only question for you, is that Cherrio on its way up or out of her nose? Enjoy the pictures.
August 20 Jamie's ShowerMy Cousin Jamie (actually my first cousin once removed - explanation: http://www.genealogy.com/16_cousn.html) is having her first baby in October. A lot of family members gathered for a little shower, it was a great time. Here are a couple pics we took.
Enjoy P.S. If you don't know who Jamie is, check out the picture with me surrouned by two beautiful blonds, she's the one on the right, Carrie is on the left and yes, they're both almost as tall as me :) More Audrey PicturesIt's been a while since I've posted some more pictures of Audrey. As always, she's as cute as a button.
Cheers! July 16 Bocce ball and reading to AudreyWe spent our Sunday afternoon at Darren and Jen's and yes, we played Bocce Ball. If you've never heard of or played Bocce ball, visit http://www.worldbocce.org/ for more information, it's a blast! Thanks to our hosts for the hospitality, it was wonderful.
While reading to Audrey this evening, Noelle dropped by and snapped a few photos.
Cheers! July 07 Skiing on lake WashingtonIf you didn't know, I've been an avid water skiier for as long as I can remember. It's been a bit tough to get out since my skiing partner Sean now lives a long ways away, I think I'm getting a little old too.
Anyway, Mom, Dad and I headed out this morning at 6:00 am to get the best water possible and I think we did pretty good. David, check out the photos, that's water skiing water and it's gone by 7:30 am. Anyway, thanks to Mom and Dad for getting up at the crack of dawn to feed my habit.
Enjoy the background! Back on paceYeah yeah, our Hawaiian photo hangover must be over, I'm back to posting lots and lots of Audrey photos. As always, she's very cute and smiling... most of the time :)
Cheers! July 06 Congratulations Eli and LyndiWe attended another wedding last weekend and as always it was beautiful.
In my older age though, I'm beginning to really despise difficult lighting. I used to fire off photos without taking the background into account, now I shudder at the site of harsh shadows. At this last wedding, I'm pretty sure I encountered the most difficult lighting I've ever had to deal with. Not only was I in the back row (requires a lot more light than normal), but the background behind the bride and groom was solid white (casts huge shadows) and the ceiling was brown and vaulted (can't bounce a flash).
These kind of conditions want me to pony up and purchase another flash for my system, all I need is $350 :)
Anyway, I was able to get a couple nice shots... and please don't shudder if you see harsh shadows, I did the best I could.
Cheers! A few more Audrey picsI've been accused on not posting enough photos of Audrey. Well, here are a couple more.
Cheers! |
